We are very proud of our year 9 pupil Ryan Hoey ⚽️

St Mary's YCFC U13's vs Bandbrige Rangers.

A cup match for the lads on Saturday and another great performance again this week. Ryan Hoey got the scoring started with a header after neat build up play down the wing ended with Jack crossing into the box for Ryan to head home.

The lads enjoyed a lot of the possession in the first half and Ryan got his second of the game after a fine turn and shot from the edge of box into the roof of the net. A quick thinking corner from Comghall and Jamie left Jamie with time and space to rifle the ball into the net from edge of box. The first half finished with Ryan Hoey completing his hat trick after a breaking ball from the rangers defence found its way to Ryan to lash home with his right foot this time to complete a perfect hat trick, Ronaldo like 🙂 left foot, right foot and a header.   The second half began more of the same with our lads enjoying much of the possession. Ryan Hoey definitely saved the best for last when from a very tight angle on the half volley he found the back of the net for his fourth of the game. The lads kept at it and pushed for more goals and only for some great saves from the Bandbrige keeper the score line would have been greater.

Maxi did get the final goal of the game when he scored directly from a corner - a great goal. Special mention to our defence. Sean, Jamie, Rhys, Nathaniel and Stephen. They were rarely troubled but when they were, they dealt things really well and kept a clean sheet, putting in a really solid performance along with the rest of the team.   A really good team performance. Best of luck to Banbridge for the rest of the season.
